MECOMSTM implementation at stadsverwarming Purmerend

On behalf of Stadsverwarming Purmerend, Ferranti Computer Systems is providing the implementation of a CRM/Billing system based on MECOMSTM for Microsoft Dynamics AX supporting the complete administration of the clients (Meter to Cash). What is new here is the integration of the full bookkeeping and stock management for Stadsverwarming Purmerend. There is an option to include asset management in the MECOMSTM for Microsoft Dynamics AX system as well.

Stadsverwarming Purmerend is a modern and sustainable local heating company that supplies heating to the residents and companies in Purmerend in a reliable and comfortable way. Stadsverwarming Purmerend was founded in 1981 and went independent in 2007. It currently supplies nearly 25,000 clients with heat and hot tap water. Sustainability, reliable delivery, comfort and innovation are their central values. In the coming years, Stadsverwarming Purmerend will be working to develop a more efficient heat distribution, greater sustainability and optimisation of the service provided to clients.

Energy Data Store & Reconciliation for SPE/Luminus

SPE/Luminus, the number 2 in the Belgian energy market, has awarded the Energy Data Store / Reconciliation contract to Ferranti. MECOMSTM for Dynamics AX will be implemented to be used by other applications as a store of energy consumption data within SPE/Luminus' Application landscape. Next to this Energy Data Store Ferranti will also implement the Belgian reconciliation and grid-fee settlement processes in this new environment.

Stadtwerke Hameln (DE) chooses MECOMSTM

Stadtwerke Hameln, an integrated utility company from Lower-Saxony, has chosen MECOMSTM to sell water, electricity, gas and internet services. Its main customers are the businesses and residents of the city of Hameln, but recently the sales area has been expanded to the surrounding Weserbergland region.

As Germany’s energy market is currently being liberalized, new regulation requires the organizations of the supplier and the grid operator to be legally separated. MECOMS is localized for this new German market situation, and will be compliant with this upcoming market situation and all its specific processes. MECOMS is being deployed at both organizations of Stadtwerke Hameln, and a fine-tuned EDI messaging system will enable seamless communication between all market parties.

ERP/Service Management with Microsoft Dynamics AX for Electro-Test 

Ferranti Computer Systems has been instructed by Electro-Test to implement Microsoft Dynamics AX as their ERP/Service Management solution. Electro-Test is a fast growing company that is among other things active in the fields of inspections of electricity-, gas-, and water installations, lifts and lifting devices, energy audits and training.

Ferranti will implement the standard CRM, Service Management, Invoicing and Financial modules of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 with a number of extensions to provide “inspectors” with remote Internet access to their planning data and dossiers via the AX Enterprise Portal.

Renewed UiT database now processes all information you could need for succesful leisure activities

Recently Tina Van Bockstal of cultural centre De Meent entered the 350,000th event into the UiT database, which has just been completely upgraded. The Flemish Minister for the Environment, Nature and Culture Joke Schauvliege personally visited Ms. Van Bockstal to present her with a bouquet. It is also a symbolic way of saying thank you to the over 6,000 people and organisations who enter their activities into this database every day, and in so doing, provide an up-to-date overview of the entire cultural and leisure listings for .

The renewed platform (UiTdatabank.be), co-developed by the company Ferranti, not only enables faster and easier data entry. The quality has also been improved and options for applications expanded. For example, someone looking for a leisure activity will also be able to see where and when it is playing at other locations, where extra information is available and how to make reservations. Also included is more in-depth information such as background on the artist, video and photos, reviews, information on public transport and restaurants in the neighbourhood. In short, everything that someone might want to know for planning the perfect night ‘UiT’ (out)..

FLYINGGROUP communicates better, at lower cost, with Unified Communications

FLYINGGROUP has many exacting customers who expected a high quality service. When a reservation is made for a private jet, communication is the absolute top priority because the customers always decide late in the game and their route is bound to change at the last minute. That is why FLYINGGROUP has to remain reachable for their customers 24/7.

In the past, customers’ calls were not always answered and the telephone expenses were high, says Ben Paindavin, Chief Information Officer at FLYINGGROUP. That is why we decided to replace the existing telephone switchboard with an alternative using voice over IP (VoIP), since we wanted a complete range both inside and outside of the office as well as an efficient integration across the different international locations.

Ferranti Computer Systems installed a Cisco IP Telephony solution, constructed on the basis of the business edition of Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The solution is integrated with a QuesCom GSM Gateway, Cisco Unified Presence Communicator and the existing Microsoft Exchange Active Directory for centralised user management. The integration of the different solutions ensures that the communication with customers is now done far more efficiently. Whatever telephone number they use, the calls will always be answered. Through an operator post and an IVR system FLYINGGROUP now has a clear menu system with individual on-call service for departments such as the technical department, financial department, commercial department, ...

New Voice over IP network for OCMW Turnhout

The OCMW (public social welfare service) in Turnhout is the first port of call for all inhabitants of Turnhout, who rely on the service for all their welfare related questions and needs. In addition, the OCMW focuses special attention on a number of specific target groups.

The OCMW Turnhout currently possesses various analogue telephone switchboards distributed throughout various locations. At the same time there is a mix of network installations present as well, which makes the overall management extremely disjointed. OCMW Turnhout would like a more transparent and efficient way of communicating and collaborating, for citizens as well as for their own staff.

Ferranti Computer Systems was called in to install a centrally managed telephony and network environment based on the latest Cisco technologies. A new UPS solution will be provided, a data network with redundancy in the backbone and a wireless network environment. The voice component consists of a Cisco Call Manager with a switchboard operator PC-application and integration with the calling system for the nursing staff. In addition, the fax-to-email system can deliver fax messages to a mailbox. The go-live took place in late December 2009.
